Watching the video for thing one really proved I am out of touch with technology. There were so many terms that I did not know or understand. What is Wiki? I didn't know you had to have an account to use google and I even have a realitive who works for google. Technology to me is using e-mail, facebook and my MP3 player in my classroom.
While watching the video I did realize that there really was some good ways to communicate with the students and their families that I would have never of thought of. I do think we need to try some new things to attract better communication with the students.
I agree, it was interesting and overwhelming to know how much technology is out there and how out of touch I am. It's nice to know others feel the same way.
ReplyDeleteJust to try to clear this up a bit... many Google features don't required that you have an account (like maps, news, images and the main search tool), but other features like mail, calendar, Blogger, and Google Docs do because Google is storing information for you, and has to know who you are.
